Hsinchu, Taiwan – Accton Technology Corporation (Accton hereinafter), a leading outsource partner of advanced communication products, today announced its 2003 year report. Net sales for 2003 were NT$16,323 million and net loss before tax was NT$2,854 million. Gross margin and operating income were 2,476million and 455million, respectively.


For the purpose of long-term corporate management principle, Accton has revaluated major assets and has determined to take a write-off for long-term investment losses in third quarter, therefore, the net loss before tax for 2003 totaled NT$2,854 million.


Accton’s 2003 sales revenue breakdown by product: 56% of revenue was contributed by Ethernet switches, 4 % by hubs and adapter cards, 24% by wireless products, 12% by gateway and broadband and 4% for other products. Revenue on a regional basis was 57% from North America, 19% from Asia Pacific and Taiwan , and 24% from Europe.


Accton’s spokesperson and Executive Vice President, Frank Kuo, pointed out that Accton’s future operations will be focused on enterprise networking, SOHO market, and enterprise wireless applications. Furthermore, Accton will concentrate research & development on integrated products, aiming to provide vertical industry and ODM/OEM customers with various user-friendly products, which will be the main steps to lay the foundation for the digitized era to come.
