—as the first and only Taiwan ODM vendor participating to fully approval its IOT with major Base Station providers
March 13, 2007 – Accton Technology Corporation (TAIEX: 2345), the global premier provider of networking and communications equipment, today announced that it participated WiMAX PlugFest, taking place in Malaga, Spain from February 11 to 18, 2007, where more than 30 different Base Station and equipment providers were gathering together. It demonstrated Accto’s capability to conduct interoperability with major WiMAX Base Stations providers in the market.
Cashew Chen, Executive VP of AWB (Accton Wireless Broadband Corporation) said, “These events are very important to get industries ready for WiMAX deployment. AWB, as a key WiMAX equipment provider, is advancing its position in WiMAX development by participating PlugFest continuously to ensure the interoperability of our 802.16e Mobile WiMAX CPE with major Base Station providers. We believe WiMAX would bring the wireless connectivity to everyone’s life.”
Accto’s indoor WI-2400 WiMAX CPE is a self-installable low cost subscriber station (SS) operating in the 2.5 GHz to 2.7 GHz spectrum. WI-3400 operates in 3.3 GHz to 3.8 GHz band. Those CPE devices are designed for self-installation with two detachable Omni antennas and one optional external antenna. The products allow the service providers to deploy easily fixed or nomadic broadband services easily. While WiMAX Forum continues to show the significant leap ahead with the maturity of mobile WiMAX, Accton indoor WiMAX CPE can be a replacement or substitute of wired DSL modem or cable modem for new wireless deployment in the market.
