Hsinchu, Taiwan – Accton Technology Corporation (Accton hereinafter), (TAIEX: 2345) today announces that will combine its multifarious resources to establish the first natural disaster and relief database in Taiwan. Based on concrete action, Accton is to care for those who experience continued threat from natural disasters for the past few months. Accton also declared that it will focus on four principles and five key points concerning Taiwan people and land.
For example, Typhoon Toraji. Accto’s directors immediately went to visit Nan-Tou and Hua-Lian counties, the most serious effected areas. They took cash in hand and wanted to help the victims of the disaster. Suddenly, they found that sometimes cash is ineffective. The resource of kindness is’t easy to gather, and it is allotted disproportionately or duplicated for some people, while the information of other victims is insufficient. Therefore, after Typhoon Toraji Accton collected detailed and accurate information and established the ‘Typhoon Toraji Concerned’ program. Hundreds of copies of this information were printed and sent to other companies, from which there was a tremendous response. Accton has now established the ‘e-charity’ natural disaster and relief database. It is based on four principles:
- Reduction of management costs.
- Immediate response and follow up.
- Continued management and maintenance of the database.
- Transparent operation.
In the future,if Taiwan faces an emergency or natural disaster, Accton is hope to provide the people of need with reliable, immediate and organized information.
The CEO of Accton, Mr. Huang An-Jie, has indicated that: ‘In the past few months, our country has faced various natural and man-made disasters, and it has made us realize the importance of immediate information. Due to the fact that Accton is not a large beneficent group or emergency rescue center, when we think of the role that Accton could play. We found that discovering methods of passing on information is Accto’s special skill and it has been fostered for many years.’ Just like the switching products that Accton produce, communicating information is an essential role, so there is the same expectation for e-charity, that the information in the database can make up for the shortcomings in disaster and relief conditions. AJ Huang states that although society presently has many different charity and social service organizations, most of these organizations have their unique position or service to special groups. Accton hopes to establish an open access and complete database, so that when natural disasters or emergencies happen, e-charity can pass on timely and clear information, to call on everyone’s heartfelt concern for Taiwan. Accton is willing to put forth the full effort of our enterprise and associated groups to consolidate everyone’s strength and concern, and hence to provide a focus for volunteer efforts.
Accton states that we have a long-term commitment to invest in an ‘e-charity’ database. At the present stage, there are five primary work objectives:
- To merge the front-line charity groups and collect timely information.
- Strive toward the completeness, organization, and accuracy of data.
- To unify and merge the strength of other charity groups.
- To pass along the needs of disaster victims.
- To establish a long-term and complete database.
In addition, Accton is presently talking with the front-line charity groups. For example, a connection to network site for activities sponsored by the World Care Organization, and to 27 locations of the Taiwan Family Relief Services, providing detailed information for all disasters, building a complete disaster and charity network.
While sincerely pray for Taiwa’s peaceful future, and people everywhere will be warm and friendly, and that with hard work the e-charity natural disaster and relief database will provide complete services. That this will allow disaster victims to rebuild their families, recover their spirit, make their first steps toward recovery easier, and build toward a bright future.
