future telecommunications (Telecom) and data networking (Datacom) integration policy
data merged with voice and multimedia requirements
traditional wired network equipment adds or merges wireless abilities
the major business sector for merging IP networks with Storage Area Network applications of data storage and information backup
Accton describes future technology direction and product development prospects.
Accto’s President, Doo Yi-ming, stated “This product announcement meeting is the result of each business unit’s hard-won operational achievements, which represent Accto’s commitment to future technology directions, and forms Accto’s future development blueprint for a multiple range of products.” This exhibit covers the combination of two major areas – networking and communications, including: initial market release of VDSL (Very High Bit Rate DSL) modem, VoIP (Voice over IP) Gateway, IAD (Integrated Access Device), wireless LAN product series, and SAN (Storage Area Network) products. Doo Yi-ming further says “Our entire enterprise’s efforts, built on Accto’s research technology and product development capabilities, after today has achieved full converge of communications and networks.”
“New Age Communication Networks Large Scale Convergence Plan” States our policy to solve broadband problems for Ethernet-centralized network structure for the end-users, medium to large-scale enterprises, to the Internet Service Provider’s (ISP) network backbone. For example: using VDSL modems, customers can access multimedia applications using standard phone lines to connect to the network; using a wireless gateway and wireless PC cards you can provide simultaneous access to a broad range of Internet activities to an entire household or any large group of people; with VoIP dedicated lines you can allow large enterprises to dramatically reduce telephone charges for calls between headquarters and branch offices; and with our Storage Area Network bridge (GigaSAN Bridge), enterprises can easily store critical data at different locations, which not only avoids the negative effects of equipment failures or natural disasters, but also brings full support for enterprise level information management.
Today’s press conference includes Accto’s latest products, which through technological advances are merging traditional networks with new age information network capabilities. For example, workgroup networks were the focus of attention, but today we are now shifting our emphasis to functional convergence with new forms of enterprise switches and home networking equipment. It not only includes data, but to add data and multimedia (data/video/voice) to our network equipment. In addition to this, the market growth potential for wireless networks is stimulating Accton to speed up new product releases of wireless products, and the recent occurrence of several natural disasters has created an intensified demand for protecting enterprise data, so Accton is now merging traditional networks with Storage Area Networks. We are delivering products that support applications for user groups that go beyond simple business applications, to include large scale enterprises, medium to small scale enterprises, to home applications.
