Accton Technology Corporation (Accton) (TWSE: 2345.TW), a global premier provider of networking and communication solutions, today announced that the company’s Board of Directors has appointed Edgar Masri as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Accton Group, effective November 12, 2019.

With seasoned experience in the executive, venture capital, and high-tech networking fields, Masri brings to Accton a wealth of managerial and technological experience plus a rich network of business contacts. He joins Accton after having served as board advisor and senior consultant to the company since February 2017.

About Edgar Masri

From February 2017 till present, Edgar has been a board advisor and senior consultant to Accton Technology Corporation. He is currently a non-executive director at Spirent Communications plc, the leading global provider of testing, assurance, analytics, and security solutions. He also sits on the board of Kollective, a private ECDN company.  From 2008 to 2016, he was president & CEO of Qualtré, Inc., a startup that developed next generation motion sensors for industrial and automotive applications. Edgar led and concluded the acquisition of Qualtré by Panasonic Corporation in December 2016.

Prior to Qualtré, Edgar was President & CEO of 3Com Corporation, a leading global data networking company. During his tenure, he negotiated, led the acquisition of, and chaired the board of H3C, the joint venture between 3Com and Huawei. He also brought 3Com to record revenue and gross margins, six consecutive quarters of profitability, and 2nd or 3rd market share position in enterprise switching and enterprise routing. Edgar recommended and managed the go-private transaction with Bain Capital.

Edgar joined Matrix Partners, a leading venture capital firm in 2000. He led the investment in and served on the board of various semiconductor, telecommunication equipment, and system software startups, including Sandburst (acquired by Broadcom Corporation), Redline Communications (TSX/AIM: RDL), and Camiant (acquired by Tekelec). Prior to Matrix, Edgar held a number of management, engineering, and marketing positions.

Edgar holds a Diplome d’Ingenieur from Ecole Centrale de Paris, a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Master of Business Administration with distinction (Arjay Miller Scholar) from Stanford University.
