The current situation is generally stable, and one of them has been discharged from the hospital for recuperation.
For those unfortunately diagnosed as confirmed cases, Accton Technology will assist in the follow-up medical and life-related needs to ensure that colleagues can rest at ease and expand the preventive epidemic prevention measures.
As a major networking manufacturer in Taiwan, Accton Technology has the responsibility to its stakeholders, employees, customers, and the industry. The epidemic prevention guidelines of the Accton group are to manage possible risks and take necessary actions before outbreaks occur. Therefore, the Accton group has taken a number of preventive measures since the beginning of May to strengthen the epidemic prevention capabilities and reduce the epidemic’s impact.
Since the outbreak at the Novotel Taoyuan hotel in early May and the related epidemic, Accton Technology has comprehensively improved the company’s epidemic prevention standards, including stopping visitors from entering the company/factory, separating employees for meals, strengthening the cleaning and disinfection of the entire factory area and foreign employee dormitories, stopping all foreign employees from applying to staying out, and explaining the epidemic situation and prevention measures in different languages.
In mid-May, right after Taipei City and New Taipei City had upgraded to the three-level alert, Accton Technology started the hierarchical separation of the Zhunan plant in Miaoli, including work areas, rest areas, dining areas, commuter transportation vehicles, etc, and QR Codes were adopted in the dining and rest seats. The QR Codes manage the entry and exit of personnel and adjusts the commuting time of personnel on different floors and in different groups to thoroughly implement the hierarchical risk management and control.
In late May, Accton Technology, in advance, signed a contract with medical institutions in Miaoli to start a comprehensive screening operation for all employees. The screening operation started on June 4 and is estimated to complete the screening of 1,500 people at the Zhunan plant by Thursday, June 9.
The screening of all foreign employees will be completed today, June 7. At the same time, the dormitory and the factory will be unified and divided into cabins. Accton Technology will expand space for foreign employee dormitories to reduce the number of foreign employees living together in the same room.
As the current epidemic situation is still changing, Accton Technology will take the protection of the health and safety of employees as its first priority and continue to adjust the epidemic prevention measures. Production and shipment operations are still functioning normally.
