Accton has developed 800G Linear-drive Pluggable Optic (LPO) transceivers
Accton’s 800G LPO enables data center networks to significantly reduce power consumption. LPO transceiver designs use only linear analog components in the data link and do not include a DSP chip, which results in reduced power consumption, latency, and cost. Accton’s 800G LPO Active Optical Cable (AOC) is designed for 800 Gbps network applications with a transmission distance of up to 50m.
OSFP Form Factor
Hot-pluggable OSFP form factor with a control interface compliant with OSFP MSA.
Data Rates
Modulated using 4-level pulse amplitude modulation (PAM4) with an aggregated data rate of 800 Gbps over 8 lanes of 100 Gbps, or 400 Gbps over 8 lanes of 50 Gbps.
Low Power
The LPO transceivers use a single 3.3 V power supply and consume less than 4W of power.
50m Transmission Distance
The transceivers use an 850nm VCSEL laser for a transmission distance of up to 50m over OM4 multimode fiber
Standards Compliance
The transceivers are Class 1 laser safety certified, RoHS 6 compliant, and the electrical interface is compliant with 100 Gbps per lane as defined by IEEE 802.3ck.
Integrated DDM
The I2C management interface is compliant with CMIS Rev 5.0 and includes integrated Digital Diagnostics Monitoring (DDM).
