Accton Partners with the "Global With Red Association" to Raise Awareness about Menstrual Education in Hsinchu

The Accton Cultural and Educational Foundation is committed to improving the educational environment. In order to address the current lack of menstrual education and stigmatization of menstruation in Taiwan, the foundation organized two primary school teacher training camps in Hsinchu in collaboration with the Global With Red Association in 2023. These camps aimed to enhance the menstrual education capabilities of 65 primary school teachers from 36 schools in Hsinchu, indirectly impacting 14,550 students.

Additionally, the foundation conducted menstrual education demonstration classes in ten Hsinchu primary schools, helping 35 teachers understand how to implement menstrual education materials in their teaching practices. This outreach affected 520 students and aimed to guide students in understanding their own bodies, introducing them to menstrual knowledge, and ultimately creating a menstruation-friendly society through school-based education.

▌Primary School Demonstration Teaching

• From understanding body anatomy to the use of menstrual products and pre-and post-menstrual care, everything is explained in a clear and detailed manner. The combination of group tasks and activities keeps the children more engaged in the learning process.

Accton Continues Menstrual Education Collaboration with the Global With Red Association

The Accton Cultural and Educational Foundation continues to collaborate with the Global With Red Association in 2023, conducting 1 teacher capacity-building workshop and 5 demonstration classes. In addition to promoting menstrual education in various elementary schools in Hsinchu, Accton also invited the founder of the Little Red Riding Hood Association, Vivi Lin, to share the current situation of menstrual issues in Taiwan with colleagues from the north, central, and south regions through online conferences, allowing them to have a deeper understanding of menstrual and gender equality issues.

Menstrual education enables children to actually learn about various sanitary products. Integrating a game into the lesson makes the menstrual curriculum more engaging.
