Implementing the United Nations SDGs
“Connecting communities, beyond any distance” Accton Technology has been upholding the goal of implementing corporate sustainability through the company’s core network technologies and partnerships.
Responding to the United Nations SDGs
In response to the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, Accton has identified and compiled its practical actions on 7 of these goals, as follows.

Good Health and Well-Being
The Company adheres to the belief that “employee health is the Company’s most valuable asset” and has established a health management department composed of occupational nurses and occupational medicine specialists. Based on the three stages and five levels of preventive medicine, we take care of the physical, mental and spiritual health of our employees through health promotion, management and services, and strive to create a professional working environment.
• Child and youth care
• Aid for disadvantaged children and youth
• Provision of meals for disadvantaged children and youth
• Children and youth advocacy initiative
• Elderly care
• Active aging
• Initiative on the concept of self-reliance support
★ Maternity Health Protection Plan
A health protection program is implemented for female employees of childbearing age, during pregnancy, and postpartum to ensure their safety and well-being in the workplace. In 2021, the Company received the Excellent Workplace Award for “Maternal Health Friendly Award” and obtained the “Excellence Certification for Breastfeeding (Nursing) Rooms” in 2023.
★ Abnormal workloads protection program (cerebral cardiovascular disease follow-up)
Based on employees’ annual health examination data, assessments were conducted to evaluate the risk of cardiovascular disease and abnormal work-related stress, with high-risk groups identified for follow-up protective measures. In 2024, in accordance with regulations, a total of 10 employees requiring physician consultations were provided with the necessary support, achieving a 100% completion rate.
★ Elderly Protection Program
The Executive Yuan promotes the formulation of the Employment Promotion Act for middle-aged and older adults (defined as those aged 45 to 65) and elderly individuals (over 65). It establishes the “Safety and Health Guidelines for Middle-aged, Older, and Elderly Workers”. In order to prevent the decline of physical functions from affecting work efficiency or even causing occupational hazards, the department has designed a suitability assessment questionnaire based on this guideline. In addition to ensuring whether the work is affected by illness or injury, it also helps to understand the Work Ability Index. According to the results of the 2024 Annual Assessment Questionnaire, 7 people were rated as weak in work ability, 6 completed the physician interview, and 1 person had resigned and therefore was not consulted. In the future, we will continue to implement the health protection plan for the middle-aged and elderly individuals, assess their work suitability and provide early assistance to improve their work efficiency.
★ Annual health checkup/new employee health checkup/special transfer assessment
The annual health checkup items are adjusted every year based on the disease incidence, age, gender and employees’ health checkup reports from previous years from the National Health Administration. We also provide physical examinations for new employees and special hazard health examinations for special operations personnel to protect the health of our employees. After the health check, abnormality follow-up, health education and job assessment will be carried out according to the report results. We will continue to use good health management models in the future, hoping to increase the abnormal re-examination rate while also improving the overall health level of our employees.
★ Case management and follow-up
The focus of the cases is on cancer, cardiovascular disease and other diseases that affect work or life, such as epilepsy, mental illness, serious accident injuries, etc. The sources of the cases include work-related injuries, accidents and self-reporting by supervisors or employees. In 2024, case management followed up with 7 individuals: 4 with cancer and 3 with cardiovascular issues. By tracking the employees’ health conditions, we continue to provide relevant medical advice or assistance. In addition to referencing national cancer statistics, we also track the occurrence rates of different types of cancer within the Company to inform our cancer screening subsidy program and aim for effective utilization. In 2020, the Company received the Excellent Workplace Award for “Health Care Award.”
★ Cancer screening subsidies
According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, cancer has remained the leading cause of death for 41 consecutive years. Considering the Company’s historical cancer case statistics, in order to achieve early detection and early treatment, we continue to offer cancer screening subsidies for six types of cancer among the top ten causes of death (such as lung cancer, colorectal cancer, stomach cancer, breast cancer, gynecological cancer, and thyroid cancer). Aside from offering a subsidy for gastrointestinal endoscopy every five years, we provide subsidies for other screenings every two years. To ensure continuous follow-up, we also offer subsidies for follow-up consultation fees and partial burdens for employees with abnormal screening results.A total of 496 people participated in 2024. Employees with abnormal test reports were included in the special group health management, and their follow-up visits were tracked regularly.
★ Influenza Vaccination Drive
In order to enhance the immunity of employees, Accton promotes on-site flu vaccination every flu season. In Hsinchu, the company partners with local clinics to offer convenient on-site vaccination services and discounted flu shots to encourage participation. Employees who are more susceptible to respiratory infections, as identified through the attendance system, are especially encouraged to get vaccinated. For high-risk individuals eligible for government-funded vaccines, related information is provided via email or text messages. Accton remains committed to employee health and well-being and continues to proactively address multiple health risks.
★ Start “Activate” Health. Career life Level Up
A healthy lifestyle can prevent the occurrence of chronic diseases. In 2023, we started to promote healthy eating from the perspective of “eating habits” and won the Nutrition and Health Award. In 2024, the focus of health promotion will be on “developing exercise habits”, with the main theme of “exercise point accumulation”. This will include fun online health education games, seminars, and group and individual competitions themed around weight loss, offering relevant health resources. The analysis results show that employees who participated in group activities had better success in achieving health goals, with an effective weight loss rate of 82.76%. This can serve as a direction for future activity design. However, it is necessary to strengthen individualized planning for activities to improve employee participation rates and ensure ongoing execution, which will more effectively build the health capital of Accton employees. Accton Group has received recognition for its promotion of healthy workplaces, having been awarded the “Healthy Workplace Certification and Health Activation Mark” by the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s National Health Agency in 2017, 2019, and 2021. We have applied for an extension in 2024, with the goal of passing certification in 2025.
