Accton Contributes to the OIF 112G PAM4 Interoperability Efforts and Maintains Its Industry Leadership
Hsinchu, Taiwan – March 7, 2022 – Accton Technology Corporation (Accton) (TWSE: 2345), a premier provider of networking and communications solutions will participate in OFC 2022 Conference in San Diego, where Accton 112G high-density channel board demonstrate technical and maturity of 112G PAM4 eco-system reinforcing the company’s commitment to innovation and industry-wide advancements.
At this landmark conference for communications and optics, the Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) booth leverages the organization’s key members with complementary expertise across the supply chain to demonstrate the state of the art 112G SerDes technologies that expect to enable next generation datacenters networks. As the board partner for the 112G Common Electrical Interfaces (CEI) interoperability live demo, Accton provides the platform that OIF members use to showcase their latest developments in what is one of the most technically challenging hardware leaps in recent years migration from 26.55 GBd to 53.125 GBd PAM4 signaling.
The Accton channel board emulates 1 RU 100Gx256 (25.6T) and 100Gx512 (51.2T) switch implementations necessary for the next two generations of high-performance, power-efficient network switches. It uses QSFP-DD800 flyover cables, which allow connections to all 256/512-lane switches, meet the CR port loss budget, and save 20% system power. This engineering board supports up to 2 meters passive copper cables and 800G optical modules on all ports, without the need for line-card re-timers.
“It is our responsibility as one of the market leaders to openly contribute toward development efforts that help move forward the entire networking industry,” said Melody Chiang, Senior Vice President of Product Development & Management at Accton. “With 112G PAM4 being a major technological breakthrough, our teams are working closely with a wide range of partners to engineer the hardware solutions required for 8×100 GbE, 4×200 GbE, 2×400 GbE, and future 800 GbE applications.”
OIF Members Demonstrate How Interoperability Accelerates Industry Solutions for Today’s and Future Global Networks at OFC 2022
OIF will host its largest demonstration of interoperability to date at this year’s OFC 2022, featuring five key technology areas – 400ZR optics; Co-Packaging architectures; Common Electrical I/O (CEI) channels; FlexE (Flex Ethernet) definitions and Common Management Interface Specification (CMIS) implementations. The work of OIF and its members is critical in accelerating the adoption of technologies enabling the networks of today and the future. The interoperability demos will be both live and static at OIF’s booth, #5101, during OFC 2022, March 8-10 in San Diego, CA.
