Happiness with Palms Down – Accton 2024 Corporate Volunteer Activity Recap
ESG Spotlight / Social 👪 /Employee Welfare Department/ May 16th, 2025
“We help others with our palms down, and we ask for help with our palms up.” In this era of challenges and changes, we realize the importance of “love and care” more deeply. Reflecting on 2024, Accton has led our colleagues and their families through a series of volunteer activities that have warmed everyone’s hearts and stirred deep emotions. These experiences have shown how love and action can transform lives and bring people together.

Three Events, Different Memories and Touching Feelings
In 2024, Accton participated in three meaningful volunteer activities organized by the Miaoli Branch Office and the South Resource Center of the Eden Social Welfare Foundation. Each event also brought distinct challenges and rewards for our colleagues, reflecting the diversity of the services provided and the audiences served.
For the first event, we volunteered at Zhunan Sports Park for the community outreach program “Shining Together in Miaoli with Kids.” Our colleagues were involved throughout the entire event, from setting up the venue to managing various activity stations. They also accompanied parents and children in completing different challenges. The stage area and registration desk were bustling with the activity of our team members. For many, this was their first time participating in a volunteer activity. The experience was not only novel but also highlighted the challenges of organizing a large-scale event, yet it was equally rewarding.
For the second event, we traveled to Tainan to volunteer at the “2024 11th Barrier-Free Living Festival.” In addition to colleagues from the Tainan office, team members from the Hsinchu branch and Zhunan plant also joined, with some even bringing along their families to roll up their sleeves and participate! Last year, we also led a team to join this themed event, and this year, we regrouped to register once again as corporate volunteers.
The event was structured as a carnival, with our colleagues spread across various booths, assisting stall owners or differently-abled participants in selling goods, and accompanying children at the experience game area to play and have fun. Watching our team members sweat while wearing bright smiles was truly a beautiful sight.
For the third event, everyone rose early and set off for the Sanyi Township Library in Miaoli to participate in the “Little Devils Hide and Seek: Child Development Screening and Parent-Child Activity.” This volunteer activity was quite different from previous ones. Not only was the venue both indoors and outdoors, but it was also our first time interacting with over 70 children aged 0-6 and their parents through games to observe if the children might require early intervention support for their development.
In addition to assisting the owner to carry out the level activities, we also need to synchronize and observe whether the children of different ages have met the actions on the screening list (e.g. speech, command listening, crawling, fetching designated objects, etc.), which is a brand new and shocking experience for our colleagues!

Volunteering First-Timer and Returning Experience: Full of Gratitude
In these three volunteer activities, many of our volunteers were participating in volunteer service for the first time. Some of them were a bit shy at the beginning, but from the beginning they were nervous and unfamiliar, and then they were able to devote themselves to the service and interacted with the parents and children with passion and patience, which was a very impressive change! A colleague even said after the program, “If there is another opportunity in the future, please be sure to invite me to volunteer activities!
In the Tainan event, some of our colleagues participated for the second year and even brought their family members along this year! Being familiar with the venue and the content of the event, they were able to get started more quickly, which helped the event run smoothly as a whole.
Whether they are new to volunteering or have previous experience, they will be inspired by the process of volunteering. Volunteering is not just about giving, it is about enriching each other’s lives through two-way exchanges, and every volunteer activity is an opportunity to help ourselves grow.
Sharing of Accton staff’s experience (content written and provided by staff and their family members)
- It was truly worthwhile, and interacting with the children was so enjoyable. Seeing their smiles melted my heart!
- It was a very special experience, especially in the communication and explanation process, where more patience and encouragement were needed to help the children feel willing to try. It was through the hands-on activities that they could truly experience and learn.
- Participating in volunteer activities made me realize how many people in society need assistance and being someone who can help others is the happiest and most fulfilling feeling!
- Interacting with the adorable children was both a learning experience and a wonderful one. When the children finished their projects and quickly used up the materials prepared by the teacher, there was such a sense of accomplishment. From the beginning to the end of the event, I felt filled with happiness. Overall, I gained a lot!
- It was an inspiring day, where love transcends all boundaries. Empathy is the key to love without obstacles. And because there are no boundaries, no nationalities, we realize how much more we can do. Taking a bit of time out of our busy work schedules to do something for the community is also a way to refresh both body and mind.
- Through different volunteer activities, I feel more connected to society and can better understand my own capabilities. It’s been a wonderful experience and a way to give back to society in different ways!
- It was my first time participating in a volunteer activity with young children. Compared to previous experiences where I only focused on completing my tasks, working with children requires much more patience and care, and it tested my ability to empathize and be attentive. I really learned a lot from the process.
- Being a volunteer is also a form of learning, and the person who gains the most is yourself!
- The colleagues who participated were all enthusiastic and full of a sense of responsibility, and the time spent together was a pleasant one.
Through volunteer activities, we see the needs of society and ourselves and realize that “we are not only helping them, but also ourselves.” These insights have inspired us to continue to promote corporate volunteer activities in the future, and we look forward to more colleagues joining Accton Volunteer Team with their family members and rolling up their sleeves to work for the public good together!
Social Care, Accton’s Commitment
Along the way, Accton not only devotes itself to the design and development of networking products and the integration with AI, but also leads our colleagues to care for the society through volunteer activities! As a responsible enterprise, we deeply understand that we are not only a creator of business value, but also a member of society. Volunteer activities are not a formalized public service, but our deep commitment to the land. “With Accton’s love, the society is free from obstacles”, we will continue to pay attention to the needs of the society, and realize our corporate social responsibility through more diversified ways, and look forward to using our power to create more beauty, and also look forward to you joining us in caring for society, so let’s work together and let the love never stop.
