Accton places great emphasis on professionalism and strives to create opportunities for diversity and equal access to resources. In March of this year, Accton hired visually-impaired professional baristas, Jiazhen and Mia, to join the Accton family, embarking on a series of inclusive coffee journeys.

The Departure of the Coffee Train Sparked Feelings of Empathy and Mutual Assistance
In March of this year, Accton hired visually-impaired professional baristas to join the Accton family. They started the “Accton Coffee Train ∞ Seeing Infinite Possibilities” tour from the Taipei office, selling hand-brewed coffee for charity every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.
Mia faces challenges with her vision and hearing in her right ear, and brewing coffee needs a substantial amount of hot water. While waiting for coffee, Mia’s colleagues in Taipei actively helped her fill the kettle with hot water and kept the table and floor clean, showing empathy and mutual assistance. Thanks to the support of colleagues and surrounding businesses, all proceeds from the charity sales, after deducting costs, were allocated to the operating fund of the “Accton Coffee Train.”

Close Your Eyes and Open Your Other Senses
In August, Hsinchu HQ offered a six-part “Coffee Mastery” course led by Jiazhen, Taiwan’s first visually-impaired barista certified by the UK Barista Association. Participants gained insights into coffee through sensory exercises, including blindfolded brewing, which fostered empathy for visually-impaired baristas.

Fostering Respect, Empathy, and Inclusion: Embracing Diversity at Accton
Respect and empathy are qualities that everyone needs to learn. Through personal experiences, interactions, and understanding, we can enhance our senses and integrate diversity and inclusion into our workplace and personal lives. This allows us to spread love and acceptance even further! Accton hopes that with the addition of Jiazhen and Mia, colleagues can learn to approach people and things from different backgrounds with open hearts and warm hands. They aim to pass on this love and warmth to others so that more people can see a society filled with love and witness the diverse employment possibilities for friends with disabilities.
